Obviously your first choice should be OBC, it’s got a ton of hot singles all looking for fun without the long term commitment. However, if you’ve got to pull yourself away from the computer for a few hours, it doesn’t mean you can’t be looking for singles at other places. Here are a few places you might not think of to meet a great booty call.

1) Wine Tasting Bars

Instead of going to the same dirty dive bar, try out a place that specializes in wine tasting. Not only will you meet different types of people, but you’ll be less inclined to getting flat out wasted, thus lessening your chance of embarrassing hookups and 5-star hangovers.

2) ChatRoulette.com

Ok, this one is on the internet, but it’s use of video chat will mean you won’t want to sit in front of your computer in a stained wifebeater tank and a bag of Fritos. Chatroulette is a fun new program that connects you to a random stranger from anywhere in the world. If by some chance you’re connected to somewhere near you, you could end up finishing your chat at their apartment!

3) The DMV

No one likes the DMV. The DMV is like getting a root canal, a migraine, and a parking ticket all rolled into one. Take advantage of the dark cloud of foul moodiness in the building and strike up an angry conversation with a sexy single waiting next to you. Who knows, that anger could spawn into raw, raging sexual tension!

4) The Laundromat

Save us your quarters and take those dirty blankets to the washers, but make sure you don’t look too haggard. Perhaps a shirt. And maybe pants if you wanna get real classy.  Check out a sexy guy or girl folding their clothes and chat them up about how delightful their whites smell.

5) A Blood Drive

Put your charitable hat on and head over to a blood donation center. While you’re feeling good about yourself and trying to fight the urge to pass out on the donation bed, ask the hottie next to you what they’re doing later. Suggest you both go re-energize at a restaurant after you give blood. At least you know they’re disease free!

While at the offices of BCU we aren’t avid Miller Lite drinkers, we have to give them props for this ad, parodying the well-known Match.com ads which show “spontaneous” and “unscripted” interviews with “real couples” that met on the site and are now on their way to “perfect, happy, in-love” matrimony.

And while it’s a hilarious ad, and we giggle at the thought of someone actually enjoying Miller Lite that much, it seems to unintentionally say what we’ve been saying for years- silly sites that claim peoples’ main goal in life should be to settle down with “The One” ignore the ever-expanding niche of singles who understand marriage isn’t the only option! Alright, fine, the ad isn’t saying exactly that, but it sure does make you think! Thanks you Miller Lite! Not for your cringe-inducing lager, but for an ad that proves people can be stay single and still be happy, as long as they’ve  got their favorite beer!

Things started great, you’d go out with your friends and get a little crazy. At the end of the night while stumbling back to your pad, you send a booty call to that guy or lady who makes your gears turn, you two meet up a late night romp, and when you wake up they’re gone, just in time for you to grab a bowl of Fruit Loops and nurse your hangover with Saturday morning cartoons.

But recently, you’ve noticed they’ve been hanging around a little longer, inviting you to breakfast, calling in the middle of the afternoon asking if you wanna “grab some coffee,” and your 6th sense (the sense of cling) is tingling. You’ve gotta cut this clinger off, and quickly, and then follow BCU’s rules for avoiding this situation next time.

1. Keep the conversation like the sex: casual

Your childhood memories, your mom’s favorite color, your hopes and dreams- these interesting topics of conversation need not be shared with your casual friend. They might know your favorite food or the sex position you like, but beyond that, keeping the conversation casual will ensure you don’t think of your booty call as anything but that.

2. No dates

Sure you can meet up for a drink before, or casually hang out with friends, but a romantic dinner, a movie, or a morning coffee date are not part of the booty call protocol. The second you start meeting up without the intention of ending the night at one of your homes, you’ve veered off Booty Call Avenue onto Relationship Road.

3. No gifts

Unless it’s some fancy glitter condoms or a fancy sex toy- keep your mix CDs and flowers for your mom. There is no reason to start sending mixed signals to someone you have no intention of dating exclusively. (Unless of course, you do plan on it, in which case you are at the wrong site.)

4. Keep your options open

Just because you have a reliable booty call for the night doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep your eyes open.  Getting lazy with a booty call is just as bad as finding yourself six months into a relationship on the couch watching Law and Order reruns. By keeping your options open, you’ll guarantee you don’t get emotionally attached to one person.

5. Be safe

Birth control and condoms are two seriously important ways to be sure your casual sex remains casual. Reducing your carbon footprint is extremely important in this day and age. At OBC, we try to our best to be a green company by recycling and doing our best to conserve natural resources. What we didn’t know was that the very act of casual dating may be good for the environment.

According to a study presented in the LA Times, a commonly overlooked aspect of the human race’s strain on the environment is the problem of over-population. Researchers at Oregon State University argue that the carbon footprint of parents increase by almost six times per child. Having just one child nullifies the effects of driving a fuel efficient hybrid car.

By dating casual and responsibly engaging in safe sex, singles everywhere are reducing their carbon footprints. We always knew that the single life was good for the individual but we had no idea that it was good for the environment.

5. Cleanliness Is Godliness.

I’m not saying you have to go into all-out, Spring cleaning mode or call Stanley Steamers to make sure your carpets are spotless. But, if your place is a mess, that can be a huge turn off. Nobody wants to hook up on a bed full of crumbs. Simply tidy up a little bit, change the sheets and give your date a clean place to slip into something more comfortable.
