Keeping up with BCU’s reputation for investigative journalism of the highest caliber, it has been brought to our attention that some online companies have been utilizing some less than honest business practices. Techcrunch.com recently released a list of companies that have been found to use post transaction marketing schemes to scam customers. We were shocked to find eHarmony on that list.

What is post transaction marketing? Essentially, it’s when a company pretends to offer a cash back offer after a purchase has been made. Without reading the fine print, a customer may sign up for what they believe is cash back on their purchase but, in reality they’ve signed up for an often useless service that bills them monthly. Many times, the customer won’t realize it until they’ve already been billed for a few months.

So what’s the moral of the story? Always read the fine print to protect yourself from online scams.

Students at UCLA went postal after it was announced that College fees would be increased by a whopping 32%. According to USnews.com, angry students completely occupied a campus building on protest. 14 students have reportedly been arrested while reports of students being tazered by riot police have been pouring in. The financial troubles of the Golden State have been widely publicized and these may not be the last of tuition hikes that we will see on college campuses all over California.

Here at OBC, we love cougars. So, of course we were excited when we heard about a Carnival cruise ship full of hot, single cougars. In case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what a cougar is, let the professor lay down some knowledge for you.

According to NBC San Diego, the 3-day cruise departs from San Diego on Dec. 4. You can be sure that we’ll be updating with more details regarding this “Cougar Cruise.”

We all know that long distance relationships, whether they are between friends, lovers, or bootycallers, can be difficult to manage, but don’t trip! It seems that many of the girls that I’ve encountered in the past have told me the same thing; “I’m usually not like this, but…” Now, I’d like to believe that I’ve got some hypnotic power that makes girls drop their drawers but unfortunately I don’t. If I did, I wouldn’t have a profile on OBC. I could just go to the store and find a cute girl and start hittin’ it right there in the aisle. J/K.

But seriously, what I want to know is, why do you girls need to make an excuse if you want some? If you’re attracted to a guy or maybe you’re just really horny at the moment; why can’t you just be straight forward and say, “I need some action right now mothaf_cka!” LOL. Well, maybe not like that. But at least don’t feed him some tired line about how innocent you usually are. Because seriously, when I hear that–it makes me think, “I wonder how many guys she’s told that to.”

So guys, if you hear that line all the time, let me know what you think about it. And girls, if you or your friends are guilty of this, let me know your reasons.

(February 2007)  Just got back from Super Bowl weekend in Miami and I probably won’t recover for a few weeks. I’ll keep this one short and let the pics do the talking. What I will tell you is that we partied like it was 1999! From eating at the best spots and shutting down the malls to VIP parties with lots of bootyful people; the OBC crew did it real big in MIA.
